The schedule is coming alive!!!

Can’t keep us down.  We Ride and Have Fun… that is what we do.

Please note that while our schedule is opening up, there is unfortunately going to be a few days lag to getting the updates posted for the “Schedule” tab.  The Webmaster is camping with very poor connection and the update requires upload operations.  …but… in the meantime, there will be notes added on the Schedule Page and in this post.

From our Activities Officer Patrick:

Hello all! Thursday looks to be a great night for our first meeting back! I am so looking forward to it!!

In order to do this right and to protect our members as well as we can, there are some things you should know and expect.

1- We will be serious about social distancing and other guidelines. This includes maintaining the recommended six foot distance whenever possible. It also means that we highly encourage the use of masks when that distance cannot be maintained. We won’t be jerks about it, but expect that you won’t be, either. Our gatherings are not the place for politics or for heated debates.

2- For any checking in, etc., expect that one person will be handling any writing instruments, etc.

3- You may be expected to grab your own chair and set it up, as well as put it away. When setting it up, social distancing should still be followed.

4- We will not have masks or hand sanitizer available. Please ensure you bring yours with you.

Yes, this is a pain, but it’s where we are right now. I know we are all eager to get back to normal, but I also know that NONE of us wants to be the reason it gets stopped again. And more importantly, no one wants to get sick or, worse, cause someone else to get sick. So, let’s be respectful and enjoy ourselves!

As I said, I’m really looking forward to seeing all of you! Be safe and stay healthy and, as always, remain civil. We’re getting there! Let’s keep doing it together. See you Thursday!

…additionally Patrick advises:

I have been waiting months for this!! As have all of you!! As you know, we, your Seacoast HOG officers, have stayed plugged in during this crazy time. We have monitored situations and remained in near-constant contact with the dealerships and each other. In doing so, we have been able to determine that July will see the resumption our chapter schedule!!

This means that we will start with the Chapter Business Meeting on Thursday, July 2nd at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held outdoors, but will include all of the normal activities we have sorely missed. LOH will be selling tickets for the raffle. If any LOH members are interested in helping to sell tickets, let Cassandra or Rose know. LOH will also have a themed giveaway for the raffle. The theme is Red, White & Blue HOGs. If you can, please bring something patriotic for the giveaway. And, as always, feel free to bring any unwanted bike related items for the raffle.

Now, we ALL are still responsible for following any and all guidelines. Primarily, this means that we will be practicing social distancing and expect the same of you. When social distancing cannot be maintained, a mask is expected. Don’t be that guy. Respect each other and let’s make this a fun night back together!

Resuming our schedule also means that we can get back to chapter rides. Time for all you ride planners to get back to work!!! There is lots to reschedule or get back to organizing! Check the schedule and see what you need to do. Calling restaruants or venues may be the first order to ensure events are happening or that they can accomodate larger groups. As you get things put together or end up needing to adjust, please just let me know.

For the first week in July, our chapter ride schedule is meager. We have an open date on the Fourth of July, itself. On Sunday, I’ll have to cancel my ride in the morning as Cars and Coffee is not back. But the LOH Ice Cream Ride can still be a go. More to come on that!

So, I hope you find this news as exciting as I do. I can’t wait to see each and everyone of you. Do your part to help continue to minimize the spread and stay safe and healthy! See you soon
